In the first 3 years of exitence, the Rotary Club of Placencia has completed numerous projects benefiting the local community. Many of these projects are ongoing and/or annual projects and include:

Establishment of a Volunteer Fire Department (information on another page on this site)

Cleaning up the sports field in Placencia Village as well as replacing fencing, painting existing fences, and installation of a backstop for the baseball feild

Installation ofa new flagpole at the sports field

Establishment of a chess club for Placencia Village and Seine Bight Village

Construction of and painting a new fence at the Placencia cemetery

Securing and providing wheelchairs to residents requiring them

Establishing of the program to provide dictionaries to local Standard 3 students

Establishing of a scholarship enabling a local student to attend Independence High School

Hosting a luncheon for Placencia's Senior Citizens
In addition to the above, the Rotary Club of Placencia provides assistance to other local organizations and agencies whenever possible through providing help with the work being doen or financial assistance, or both. Many of the programs listed, as indicated, are ongoing projects that we are committed to continuing and, in many cases, expanding as the needs are identified.
